I started this business in March 1998. I am also the owner of Syarikat K.S. Trading. K.S. Trading was established in 1978. Until September 1996, we were at 4542, Jalan Kampong Gajah, Butterworth.
The shop was gutted by fire in September 1996.
I hold a Diploma in Applied Chemistry from the School of Mines and Industries, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. I was at Ballarat from 1960 to 1963.
After graduation, I joined Monsanto Chemcals, Footscray.
In 1965, I was at Layang2 Johore at Chemara Research Station for about 3 months. I left to join Chemical Company of Malaysia in 1965. I was in U.K. for 6 months for traninig at I.C.I. fertilisers, Bristol and Billingham.
I remained with C.C.M. until March 1971. Later in June 1971, I joined India Malaysia Textiles, Butterworth.
I left in 1978 to start my own business and since I have been in business.
At first, I was dealing with Indian Products and then carpets.
The switch to Pharmacy was natural as two of my dautghters are pharmacists. The first pharmacy "NUTRICARE PHARMACY" was set up towards the end of 1995.
We decided to establish the 2nd pharmacy as my last daughter, Bharati, was graduating in 1997.
BHARATI SURESH CHAND
Graduated in the year 1997 from University Science Malaysia in Penang. She underwent training at the General Hospital Penang for one year. She joined the pharmacy in 1998. Bharati is now married to Atul Kumar Shah. Atul Kumar Shah is attched to Bank Bumiputra Commerce in Penang.
GEETA SURESH CHAND
Geeta is lawyer by profession. She obtained her degree from the University of London. She was, in the absence of Bharati, the General Manager in Bayan Bay. She is responsible for the intial setting up of this pharmacy. She is now a partner and also runs her own firm of S.C.Geeta.
RITA SURESH CHAND
Rita hold a Diploma in Hotel & Catering. She also has Bachelor of Business Administration from the Monash University, Australia. She is now in the midst of completing her Masters in Business of Administration from Bath University U.K. She helps out at both the pharmacies.
KUSUM SURESH CHAND
She is essentially a housewife. She hold a degree in Political Science from the Agra University, India. She is now actively involved in the running of the pharmacy.
ASHA SURESH CHAND
Sole - Proprietor of Nutricare Pharmcy.She hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University Science Malaysia, Penang.She established the pharmacy after having worked at the General Hospital Penang and then at Jardine Pharmacy, Beach Street, Penang. She is married to Theva Nithyanantham.
THEVANANTHAN NITHYANANTHAM
Theva is a Neuro Science graduate from the University of Toronto. He is a founder of SMARTBRAIN MIND TECHNOLOGIES CENTRE and also the writer of popular book called "YOUR CHILD, YOUR GENIUS".
